If you are interested in losing weight, sleeping better, increasing your energy or just plain feeling better, then Glen Colello and Lisa Storch believe they have the answer for you.
The husband and wife team that owns Catch A Health Habit Café in Fairfield center heartily recommend “The Cleanse,” a five day long liquid nutritional program offered by the café that is designed to both invigorate and educate the Catch a Healthy Habit customers who participate in the program.
Using only organic fruits, vegetables, sprouts and nut milks, the Catch a Healthy Habit staff prepares, fresh each morning, a bag full of all nutrition needs for the day. A quick stop by the café, located on 39 Unquowa Road and those who are participating in the cleanse are set for the day. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the participants receive four juices, one superfood smoothie, and one blended soup and on Tuesday and Thursday three juices, one superfood smoothie, one blended soup and one Chia seed pudding are distributed. It’s that easy.
“Everything is made fresh that day,” explained Colello, who is gearing up for the March cleanse which will be held from March 7th thru March 11th. “It’s just a great way to reset.”
Catch a Healthy Habit Café has already slated its cleanse dates for the next two months. In April, Fairfielders can cleanse their system from April4th through April 8th and in May, residents can participate in the process from the second through the sixth. All cleanses run from Monday to Friday.
Colello explained that there are different results and expectations that vary depending upon the person participating in the cleanse. However, he pointed out that no matter what the physical result, at the end of the day the cleanse is an educational experience.
“Throughout the week, I send out a lot of e-mails designed to help our customers through the process,” he pointed out. “Some are inspirational, some might be just nutritional information, but they are designed to be helpful to anyone participating. At the end of the day, we want everyone involved to get out as much as possible from the experience.”
Colello said he has seen patrons lose as much as 14 pounds during the five days and others who have lost almost no weight.
“In some cases it depends on how much water weight they have, so I am not saying in any way that losing 14 pounds in five days is a good thing,” he said. “What is important is how they feel at the end of the five days. Usually they are sleeping better and their energy is greatly increased. That’s what is important.”
The cleanse is only one of many events hosted by the co-owners. Throughout the year the café sponsors lectures, educational sessions and is currently planning a screening of the film “Consumed” at the Bullard Square Cinemas in Fairfield on March 22nd.
“In the long run, I think what separates us is our events,” said Colello. “We try to stay active in the community and involved with our customers. Obviously, we are a café, but we strive to be much more.”
